Hey there! I hope everyone is doing well. Welcome to the next round of the Sunan Weekly Roundup!
What We Are Working On
This week at Sunan Designs, we’ve been reflecting on how being doubted for what you believe in shouldn’t become an obstacle towards our goals. In our pursuit to set an example and drive positive change, we often find ourselves navigating the challenges of not having people believe in our aims as much as we do. This is a natural part of pushing boundaries and challenging the status quo, both in personal journeys and at the organizational level.
My Biggest Takeaway: They Will Doubt You But It’s Okay!
When you step into a leadership role, whether personally or professionally, you’re bound to encounter skepticism and confusion from those around you. This often happens because you’re introducing new ideas or practices that diverge from established norms. On a personal level, it can mean facing criticism from friends or family who don’t fully understand your vision. In an organizational context, it might involve resistance from colleagues or stakeholders who are hesitant to embrace change, and that’s okay because change isn’t meant for everyone. Change is bound to be uncomfortable, and not everyone is ready for it. Them doubting your goals doesn’t necessarily mean you don’t have it in you, all it means is that the notion you introduced to them is new, and they haven’t seen you or maybe anyone else claim success in it!
This week’s reflection has reinforced a crucial insight: being doubted should not be viewed as a setback, but rather as a sign that you are forging a new path. It’s an indicator that you’re challenging conventional thinking and leading with a clear sense of purpose. The key is to maintain strength, communicate your intentions transparently, and remain steadfast in your values. Over time, as the positive impacts of your efforts become evident, the initial doubts will transform into understanding and support.
It’s time to embrace doubt as part of the journey towards innovation and growth. Let’s recognize that these moments are not obstacles, but rather opportunities to clarify our message and reinforce our commitment to making a difference. Sunan is dedicated towards driving change and creating a positive impact. I started when I saw a gap in islamic nonprofits and every muslim brand’s marketing strategy, my aim was to bring the community together and yes, I too faced similar obstables, but Alhumdulilah! Things have taken its course. Through time, I started to see the beauty in being doubted. I took them as challenges and conquered them. Now, I’m prepared for it more than ever, the question is – are you?
