Hey!

Hope everyone is doing well. Welcome to the next round of the Sunan Weekly Roundup!

What we are working on:

This week, we released a rather timely and relevant blog post titled “How To Get More Organic Traffic On Social Media”

It’s 2020 and according to most marketers, organic traffic is dead. Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter just want to make money, and that’s just how it is. Or is it?

While organic reach is indeed not what it was a few years ago, There are still creative solutions out there. In fact, there is a lot you can do to get more organic traffic, and we are here to help you do just that!

Here are 8 ways you can get more organic traffic on social media. Personally, number 7 is my favorite: add value in your posting. Give them something of value that will help move the needle for them in their life and in their business. The more value you can provide, the more valuable you become. Always remember, value triumphs price!

My biggest takeaway this week: Successful People Ask Better Questions

Questions are powerful. They create connections and empower people. As entrepreneurs and marketers, we can get better results with ourselves and our teams by asking better questions.

So often, we, including myself, tend to ask questions that focus on the problem rather than the desired solution. Our questions have become mere monologue statements, rather than a gateway to stronger connections.

For example, if you ask a friend who is in a toxic relationship “What’s bothering you in your relationship?” you will get a lengthy explanation on the problem your friend is facing. But if you reframe the question and ask “What do you want to change in your relationship?” you are going to get a different perspective because you have shifted the conversation from the problem, to the solution.

“Why” questions get us explanations, justifications, and excuses. Good communicators aren’t interested in rationalizing why something is not working. Rather, their goal is to find out what course corrections are needed to fix the problem.

Imagine you are sitting with your team and trying to figure out why your business is not scaling as fast as it should be. Your competitors are continuing to grow, but for some reason, you are not. If you pose the question and ask your team “Why are we not scaling?!” you are setting yourself up for failure. You are focing on the problem more than the solution.

Rather, if you reframe your question and ask, “What can we do better to scale our business?”, you are going to get a drastically different answer from this shift in perspective.

For one, your question is much more inviting and less hostile towards your team. Secondly, by reframing your question and focusing on the solution, you are opening up more doors to creative possibilities.

Ask questions with a spirit of curiosity, rather than a spirit of animosity.

Now it’s your turn: Ask questions that focus on the solution rather than the problem. The goal of asking questions is to open doors to creative possibilities and inspire action. Remember, questions should not be mere statements, rather a curious gateway to something greater.

Time to level up!
