How to get More Organic Traffic on Social Media

Author: sunandesignstg

It’s 2020 and according to most marketers, organic traffic is dead. Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter just want to make money, and that’s just how it is. Or is it?

While organic reach is indeed plummeting, it’s not like you cannot do anything about it. In fact, there is a lot you can do to get more organic traffic, and we are here to help you do just that!

Here are 8 foolproof ways you can get more organic traffic on social media.

1. Choose where to post

While it can be very tempting to post on each and every social media platform out there, it isn’t really the best strategy. Not only do you run the risk of spreading yourself too thin, not every social media platform is suitable for your business.

The best way to choose where to post is to find out where you have the most audience. It’s really that simple!

2. Ask questions

Involve your audience with your brand by using social media to ask them direct questions such as opinions about a new product or promotion. There’s never such a thing as bad feedback – in fact, customers love it when they’re part of a decision making process for the brands they follow.

3. Update your profile

When was the last time you updated your Facebook page or Instagram account? Do it right now. Yes, now! Replace that old cellphone number with your new 24/7 helpline. The picture that hasn’t been updated since 2012? You know what to do. Change it!

4. Posts that last

Try to post things that your audience will still relate to six months in the future. While this may seem tough, the easiest way to do this is through humor. Remember that joke you heard in the schoolyard all those years ago? It’s still funny, isn’t it? That’s the same principle you need to apply!

5. Timing matters

While most companies and brands rush to post on the most active days, all you have to do to counter that is to work smart, not hard. Forget the frenzied weekends, instead, post on lazy workday afternoons where you’re bound to find entire departments busy playing Fortnite!

6. Post videos…lots of them

There is a reason why Facebook Watch, IGTV and TikTok even exist – people love watching videos! If you’re an account that posts a lot of video content, then your organic reach is bound to grow, despite what anyone else tells you.

7. Add Value

Customers love getting things for free, and if they show up on their social media feed unannounced, all the better! Offer them special discounts and promos for either commenting on your posts or sharing them on their profiles!

8. Interact

Don’t be afraid to interact with your audience in the comments, via live videos and even through direct messages. They need to see that you’re not some giant robotic corporation but a real brand led by a real person who can relate to them and their needs.
