Hey!
Hope everyone is doing well. Welcome to the next round of the Sunan Weekly Roundup!
What we are working on:
This week we released another great blog post titled “Common Print Design Mistakes”. As marketers and entrepreneurs, you should never underestimate the power of print. Well designed and well-printed material such as advertisements, catalogs, brochures, and even business cards go a long way in ensuring that your brand is associated with quality.
This is why it’s important to know about the most common mistakes both rookie and seasoned designers make when designing for print. Personally, numbers 6 and 7 are some of the most common mistakes I have seen over the past few years. Be sure to avoid the embarrassment and make these a part of your proofing checklist!
2020 has been an interesting year, to say the least. Shopping as we knew it has drastically changed. Given the pandemic, more people are choosing to shop online than ever before. As entrepreneurs, we have to be willing and able to adapt to this change. How can we leverage the power of social media to better showcase our product and drive more traffic to our sites?
Don’t worry, team Sunan has you covered. Here are two recent articles we published that can help you make the most of the upcoming holiday season. (1) How to launch your first Facebook ad for just $5 per day and (2) 5 best hacks to optimize your Facebook ads campaign.

My biggest takeaway this week: Focus On Your Distribution Channels
In order to run any successful marketing campaign, the most fundamental ingredient is traffic. After all, if you do not have the traffic coming to your website, e-commerce platform, or your social media channels, your impact is going to be marginalized. And as I’m sure you have guessed, traffic is something that is constantly evolving and changing.
There was a time on Facebook that when you posted literally anything on your page, you would get thousands of views. But eventually, the natural reach died. Same way, there was a time till even a few years ago where emails would average +50% open rates where now you would be lucky to hit 20% open rates.
The same goes for Instagram and YouTube following. There are times when the ROI is phenomenal and there are times when just performing okay. As marketers and entrepreneurs, the question we have to keep asking ourselves is how do we grow and protect our distribution channels? How can we connect and continue to provide value to our customers in the ever-changing distribution platforms?
One thing is definitely certain, the channels of communication are always evolving. We have all seen the various forms. From newspapers, radio, television, emails, blogs, social media, podcasts, webinars, the list goes on!
A huge mistake I have seen many entrepreneurs and marketers make is that their ‘why’ becomes the platform. What I mean by that is they become so fixated on a particular tool that they lose sight of the ever-changing landscape and fail to connect with the clients, and more importantly fail to provide significant value. Again the question we have to keep asking ourselves is how do we grow and protect our distribution channels?
Over the past few weeks, I have been experimenting with a new tool that I’m really excited about and wanted to share with you, the Sunan community! It’s called community.
It’s a great social messaging platform that allows you to directly communicate with your audience via text messages. The thing that gets me the most excited is the awesome stats. Personally, I have seen upwards of 85% open and 80% engagement rates with this new platform. Try it out, text me directly at 443-232-9484 or click here to watch the magic happen.
Personally, for me, I will be using this tool as a way to share my biggest takeaways and marketing strategies each week with the Sunan community so that we can all level up and make a bigger impact on the people we serve.
Always remember: As entrepreneurs and marketers, we need to look at distribution channels as the arteries into our message. The more meaningful channels we can tap into and leverage, the greater value we can provide to the world.
Now it’s your turn. Take a hard look at the distribution channels you are currently leveraging and ask yourself how do I grow and protect my distribution channels? It may be via community or another tool, but the important thing is that we bring our channels into focus and scale up our impact.
Let me know which channel you are using to better connect with your audience!
Time to level up!
